Dr. Fields’ work centers on the vital questions of how people in industrial growth societies can foster respectful, reciprocally beneficial relationships with the more-than-human world and their own noble wilder selves, and how to find joy instead of feelings of deprivation as we shift to planetary-life-sustaining behavior. A dynamic public speaker, she has particular interest in the roles that spirituality, imagination, ritual, reskilling, deep listening, story, and song can play. She taught aspects of interdisciplinary environmental studies and social sciences, animistic philosophy, and community living skills at the college level from 1999-2024, including five years of teaching and living fully outdoors. Tina Asherae has recently begun to offer ecospiritual guidance to individuals and small groups. She integrates experience as a wilderness rites-of-passage leader, Naropa-trained mindfulness instructor, certified psychedelic therapist, facilitator of shinrin-yoku, labyrinth walks and Council; scholar/practitioner of latter-day Druidry, and leader of community dance and song. She has over 40 years of experience studying and practicing the deliberate invocation of altered states of consciousness. Her writing includes the co-edited book, "So What? Now What? The Anthropology of Consciousness Responds to a World in Crisis."
