Profile bio

About Tina Strickland

I am a data driven decision maker that creates meaningful take-aways from complex datasets and facilitate cross departmental discussions to improve processes and solve problems. As I have progressed in my career, I have enjoyed negotiating deals with customers and mentoring others. I have an MBA from Georgia Tech Scheller College of Business focusing on Business Analytics & Marketing and an undergraduate degree in Mathematics & Economics from Emory University. Problem Solving & Process Improvement: wide-ranging experience working to find solutions across the organization and building trust between departments. At Norfolk Southern, I have worked to find common ground on cycle time metrics between network planning, customer logistics and marketing departments by creating an automated tool with the help of our BI team. While at Cox Automotive, I created a data table that stored cross department information allowing teams from different business units to use similar data sets. This data was added to salesforce to allow different sales teams to enter in leads for different product groups increasing both lead creation and lead conversion.Sales Strategy: utilized insights from propensity to buy models to craft sales pitches for the sales team at Cox Automotive. Created wins for both Norfolk Southern and customers by working to create innovative pricing packages and offering different service models to improve profitability for both parties. At Georgia Pacific, led the deployment of promotional packaging products producing additional retail sales. Technical Skills: extensive experience analyzing large datasets using SQL, Python, Excel, Tableau and Alteryx to manipulate and extract large datasets. I have built propensity to buy models in python using logit regression.

Listed skills include German, Access, Retail Link, Npd, and 18 others.

Sales Strategy Manager

Sewickley, Pa, Us

In my role at Cox Automotive my first big project was updating the Opportunity Model which is used by multiple business units to asses sales territories and sales goals by territory management as well as finance. In this model I created customer segmentations by product and business unit and then created percentiles which allowed for customized opportunity views at the dealership level. To allow for a deeper understanding of where opportunity lies I created a map in tableau showing the hot spots for opportunity to allow us to better distribute our sales team. In addition, I created a Rolodex which pulled together disparate data from multiple business units across Cox Automotive: VIN, VAuto, DDC, AutoTrader, HomeNet, Dealertrack, XTime, etc. to create a view which showed sales rep with contact information by account and business unit as well as product adoption by account. This allows for greater collaboration among business units as well as a greater understanding of who has what product bundles.I have led the effort to build propensity to buy models in Python using logistic regression and existing Cox Automotive data to group customers into those most likely to purchase specific products. This allows us to better target dealerships as we switched to a hunter model on some of our business units. It also allows for us to build out more robust strategies by combining our opportunity model and propensity reporting to create accurate views of where the low hanging fruit lies to grow our business.

Senior Demand Planner

Atlanta, Ga, Us

When I received the title change to Senior Demand Planner I took a more active role in leading Promotional Item execution and mentoring a new Demand Planner that we added to our team. In addition, I worked closely with the Test and Learn Team to build out A/B testing to measure promotion success and allow us to keep costs within project scope. I managed and led both a Tax Time sweepstakes using IRC coupons and unique packaging. This promotion increased our retail sales by ~$2 million and helped to propel the Georgia Pacific brand to become the brand with the highest market share in the Technology Paper market. I was also selected to lead Back to School, our biggest promotional time period of the year. During this promotion I worked not only with different departments in our Atlanta Headquarters, I also coordinated with our logistics group in Green Bay and our mills in Port Hudson, LA and Camas, WA. In addition to the promotional responsibilities I continued to work with Marketing and led a project to move select reports over to Tableau allowing for greater accessibility to insights.

Sales Analyst

Atlanta, Ga, Us

My role as a sales analyst evolved over my time in the position as I proved myself fit for additional responsibilities. I reported to both the Production Planning and Marketing groups, which gave me experience in the forecasting and marketing analytics side of consumer products. In my role, I forecasted at the customer and SKU level for most of the retail channel including Costco, Target and Meijer. To help with my forecasting I created a model in excel which allowed me to increase forecast accuracy by 20%. In my role, I collaborated and our customers to establish a relationship that allowed us to create accurate promotional forecasts to make certain that our customers were neither flooded with product nor losing sales due to stock outs. In one instance I was able to recover 5,000 tons of potential lost sales by correcting our customer's forecast. Another tool that I used for forecasting were the monthly bookings targets which I updated every month. I moved that reporting over to Alteryx from Access which allowed us to save time and also have targets at both the customer and SKU level. I also worked with senior leadership to understand and prioritize existing inventories and future planned production during unplanned events and outrages on the machines to keep our most important customers with product. In addition to my forecasting responsibilities I also worked as an internal consultant for our Channel Marketing Group. I used data from multiple sources including: Retail-Link, IRI, NPD and Vendornet to pull in market data as well as customer level data for analysis. I was able to help drive data driven decisions from our customers and marketing group to allow us to grow our market share in the retail space. I offered assortment recommendations based off seasonality and regional differences, made the case to move out of Private Label and into branded, as well as develop and execute a store 3 pack test.

Financial Analyst- Intern

Atlanta, Georgia, Us

At Morrison I built out additional capabilities in Excel, Access, SQL, and Qlickview. I sent out reports on performance at the hospital and region level to regional directors on a monthly basis. I analyzed promotions with the Marketing group to measure success of the promotions in dollar amount as well as other metrics. I cleaned our menu database of items that were not utilized and led a re-categorizing effort to allow for more helpful analytics and insights. I also automated older reports for quicker and easier updating to allow me to focus on more value add items.

Jun 2013 - Apr 2014

Intern With Osp (Outside Service Providers)

Ups

Atlanta, Ga, Us

Working for UPS in Neuss, Germany was an amazing experience because I learned more about my work interests (excel isn't so bad after all!) as well as the difficulties and advantages of expanding into new markets overseas. While at UPS I revised algorithms that were used to score different countries based on their financial and operational performance which allowed UPS to quickly find and solve for problem areas. In addition, I drafted an audit sheet in Excel which would allow UPS employees throughout Europe to easily ensure that outside service providers were adhering to their contractual obligations. I also used my German skills to translate 10 documents or presentations daily into English to allow them to be sent to the US headquarters as well as other European countries.
