I AM A BUSINESS OPERATOR....I enjoy all the different aspects of running a business...rolling up my sleeves and learning whatever is required to keep a business running. Specifically, I have negotiated client contracts…managed sales and marketing…prepared operating budgets and sales forecasts….recruited staff….and evangelized our cause with senior management. I like having fun at work, creating a collegial environment, and mentoring staff. During my career, I also worked on startups, many while at Inmar Intelligence. I grew one startup to over $1.2MM in recurring revenue during its first year of operation. ....WITH AN IT FOCUS....but I also know something about information technology. Starting my career at Accenture, I worked on data conversions and connecting distributed systems together. I programmed, managed programmers, and managed projects. Later, I ran an IT support organization with both onshore and offshore staff for an business unit. I managed an infrastructure department where I was in charge of everything in the data center. I have led a successful disaster recovery test. While working on company acquisitions, I determined and negotiated IT assets to buy, and moved a data center in 60 days.....A SUCCESSFUL "UTILITY PLAYER"....developed while a management consultant at A.T. Kearney and Sony Pictures. I am used to taking on a wide variety of roles. I am a quick study who loves getting up to speed on complex business problems. While working for Inmar’s CIO, for a time I served as an internal consultant, leading initiatives that were new-to-the-company, vaguely defined, complex, time sensitive or highly visible. I addressed business strategy questions, evaluated acquisition targets and new product ideas, led client-facing development teams, and managed newly acquired companies. I excel at establishing personal networks within an organization and enjoy managing cross-functional teams. I am comfortable writing and delivering presentations, from large crowds at all-hands-on-deck company meetings to quarterly Board of Directors sessions.....WITH INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCE....later in my career, I consulted with South African business startups, focusing on day-to-day operations in highly regulated environments. While taking a hiatus to focus on family, I serve on the Board of Directors for a South African software and services company and chair their Finance Subcommittee.
