Ms. Philibotte has worked with students in English classes in all grades, but focuses mostly on upper level literature and rhetorical writing courses. She follows a student-centered, constructivist teacher philosophy grounded in high standards for all children. Director of the GHS Movement & Dance Company, Ms. Philibotte has developed a standards based public high school concert dance program. Also teaching an Intro to Dance class, this course work introduces beginning movers to basic dance vocabulary, the joy of movement, as well as flexibility and strength training and injury prevention.

Dance EducatorGoffstown High School 2008 - Jun 2021Director of the Goffstown High School Movement & Dance Company, Ms. Philibotte has developed a standards based public high school concert dance program. Also teaching an Intro to Dance class, this course work introduces beginning movers to basic dance vocabulary, the joy of movement, as well as flexibility and strength training and injury prevention.Her work developing a thriving dance program in a suburban/rural public high school was featured in Dance Teacher Magazine (August 2017 and October 2017). Inside of a five year span, Ms. Philibotte was able to triple participation, break stereotypes around men in dance to engage active male participation, nurture strong social/emotional connections and lifelong friendships among participants, provide a safe space to express oneself; addition to creating multiple opportunities for performance, student choreography, leadership and service. Her paper "Work Hard. Be Fierce. Stay Humble: Dance Can Happen in Public Schools" was selected for presentation at the National Dance Education Organization's 2016 conference in Washington, D.C.In addition to her work at the secondary level, Ms. Philibotte has taught master classes and choreographed for schools and companies throughout New England. Ms. Philibotte works extensively with high school musical theatre companies. Most recently, this work has included Goffstown High School Music Department's musical productions: "Grease," "Little Shop of Horrors," "Aida," "Into the Woods," and the upcoming production of the "Phantom of the Opera." Previous choreography experiences also include Wellesley College, Dimensions in Dance (NH), New Hampton School, Holderness School, Terminal Hip Dance Theatre, Plymouth Regional High School, and the Goffstown Theatre Company.
