Dr. Tina Rivers Ryan is Editor in Chief of Artforum, the magazine of record for the contemporary art world. She holds five degrees in art history, including a BA from Harvard and PhD from Columbia. Previously, Dr. Ryan was a Curator at the Buffalo AKG Art Museum (formerly Albright-Knox Art Gallery) in Buffalo, New York and a Curatorial Assistant in the Department of Modern and Contemporary Art at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. Before joining The Met, she held internships at MoMA PS1, the New Museum, and the ICA Boston, among other institutions.For over a decade, she has actively contributed to magazines including Artforum, Art in America, The Brooklyn Rail, Apollo, Spike, and Burlington Contemporary. She also has written scholarly essays for exhibition catalogs for major museums including The Met, the Walker Art Center, Dia, and Tate Modern.As an art historian and professional speaker, she has lectured on art in more than fifty cities internationally and has given interviews to newspapers including The New York Times, the Guardian, and the Boston Globe.
