In my role, I support the community to get more connected and engaged around the topic of organization design, to unleash the potential of the group and attract new members in an organic growth process. One of my focus topics is to bring and foster diversity to create depth for knowledge exchange and learning.

In this context, an increasingly important topic is the mental and emotional well-being of employees and leaders as well as the quality of co-creation and collaboration. ​52% of all workers are feeling burned out in organizations. Depression already affects more than 264 million people worldwide and will be the leading disease by 2030. - World Health Organization A survey by the Boston Consulting Group indicates that, in the last decade, 85% of companies have gone through transformational processes and that almost 75% of these transformations did not improve business performance, not in the short- neither in the long-term but created a high expense. In 2019 alone, more than 360 billion dollars were spent on trainings and consultancy. This research confirms our own findings and years-long experiences in- and outside the New Work world. We have found tools and ways to create stable organizational cultures that are actively supporting transformation and change in taking care of the emotional well-being of all collaborators to cultivate happiness and employee engagement, which goes to the root of the challenge.

Organizations today are facing much more than technological challenges.Even though several efforts and complete, expensive and complex strategies are orchestrated so that organizations can keep up with the pace of world transformations, advances encounter barriers in essentially human issues, relationships, noisy communication and lack of sense of belonging and relevance, triggering severe mental health conditions (depression and burnout).UNI takes care of the organization's mental health by developing the emotional intelligence of its employees and leaders. The app works like this: everyone in the organization has access to the app, where they can report their emotions in two clicks.The reports are made from a real-time emotional map of the organization, which can be accessed by leaders and HR. When the same emotion affects a significant number of people in a team (30%) - with the potential to negatively "infect" the entire team, the leader receives an email warning of the situation, with instructions, possibilities for action, models of conversations and meetings to deal with that emotion, based on an action plan.

Our purpose is to build up an overall sustainable clothing brand connecting people around the globe. We are a group of friends with different backgrounds and skills and connect through our purpose and core values. This alignment makes our drive to make this world a bit of a better place strong and fun. We love what we do and hope you do too. To produce a piece of clothing a lot is needed as human labor as well as natural resources and even chemicals. Some of us are familiar with the issues of the low cost production of clothes or working conditions as well as the harm, which is done to our environment due to micro-waste, high volumes of water used etc.. Most margins in the textile industry are really high and there is a lot of price pressure and competition. We don't believe in cost-driven approaches but more in making a real contribution. EMMA is for us a tool to make a contribution to our world. We decided on producing clothes out of recycled materials in a sustainable production process. We are not where we want to be yet but we work on it on daily basis. We don't believe in hierarchies but do believe in equality. We embrace individual talents and skills and make sure everybody can live their passion and be happy. Our weekly metrics internally: Are we closer to our purpose this week?
