I have been working as an independent translator and editor for over 30 years, first in the Netherlands and more recently in Belgium, specializing in subtitling editing, and medical and technical translations. Now I have returned to my first interest, translating non fiction. In 2012 I translated Loic Wacquant's Urban Outcasts; in 2018 Jude Woodward's The US Vs China: Asia's New Cold War?, together with Dirk Nimmegeers, and in 2019 prize-winning Poverty Safari, by Darren McGarvey. I also translated Shanthini Naidoo's Women in Solitary, which was published in September 2021. Recently finished: Witches, Witch-hunting and Women, by Silvia Federici, and The Withdrawal, by Vijay Prashad and Noam Chomsky. Currently I am translating an oldie but goldie, Chomsky's Manufacturing Consent, together with Jan Reyniers.
