An experienced project manager and policy analyst with a background in international bidding and infrastructure development. Prior to pursuing graduate studies, I worked for China Road and Bridge Corporation (affiliated to China Communications Construction Company Ltd.), one of China’s biggest state-owned enterprises, with over 40 branches all over the world. During 2010 and 2014, I worked in Angola, Mozambique and São Tomé and Principe, focused on infrastructure planning, design, financing, execution and operation. Since 2014, I shifted its focus to Latin American world, especially Brazil, now faced with dramatic political crisis, economic downturn and international pressure on the Olympic Games. This work gave me first-hand understanding of challenges confronted by African and Latin American countries, especially Portuguese speaking countries in search of international aid for the infrastructure development and of the balance between national development and international debt. This motivated my current interest in reconciling political development, energy policy and economic policy objectives. Originally from Shanghai, I received my bachelor’s degree in Portuguese Language and Culture from Shanghai International Studies University (SISU), where I graduated magna cum laude from the university’s honors program. I am expecting to receive my Master of Public Affairs from Brown University at May 2017.
