I am an AI researcher and academic currently serving as a Lecturer in Artificial Intelligence in the Department of Computer Science at Edge Hill University. My career spans impactful collaborations with world-leading automobile companies such as BMW, Audi, Honda, Mini, Stellantis, Hyundai, and more, as part of the Volkswagen Group-led Hi-Drive project. In this role, I contributed to advancing higher-level automation, focusing on Driver Behaviour Monitoring and Pedestrian Intention Prediction using state-of-the-art computer vision techniques.Previously, I worked as a research intern representing Muhammad Bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI) in a project with the Technology Innovation Institute (TII), Abu Dhabi, UAE. My contributions included UAV-based fire detection and segmentation systems. Additionally, I gained experience working on industrial and government-funded projects in South Korea during my Ph.D. candidacy.Currently, I am focused on foundation models and working with multimodal text and image data to address real-world challenges in areas such as video analytics, image analysis, and multimedia understanding. My expertise lies in developing scalable AI solutions for complex problems, and I am passionate about collaborating with forward-thinking organizations to push the boundaries of intelligent systems and automation technologies.
