Since 2001, Tiny McLaughlin has served the charter school community an executive, investment banker and board director. Tiny’s career includes diverse roles with private, pubic, government and non-for-profit organizations. More than $500 million private credit investments & tax-exempt public offerings for K-12 Charter and private schools. Previously, Tiny served as Vice President of Alain Locke, a high-poverty charter school on Chicago’s West Side that was in danger of being shut down for poor academic performance. There he led an organizational restructuring and oversaw the implementation of a new school model that resulted in Alain Locke posting the largest testing gains in Chicago Public Schools- for two consecutive years. While at Alain Locke, Tiny secured debt financing and oversaw the “gut and rehabilitation” of facilities that allowed the school to double its enrollment.Tiny has held a variety of leadership roles within or for Career Education Corporation, Sterling Partners, Textura Corporation and Aon Risk Services. He served twelve years of active duty in the United States Navy and has logged more the 2,000 flight hours as an aircraft carrier-based Combat Search & Rescue Pilot.Tiny is a board director and leads the finance committee for the Alain Locke Charter School. He has served as an advisor/selector for New Leaders for New Schools Chicago, the Inner-City Teaching Corps and Chicago Community Ventures as well as a member of the board for directors of St Clement Catholic School.
