Offshore Facilities (Holstein Deepwater Spar) - Mechanical Engineer
• Managed the $1.5MM maintenance overhaul of facility mooring - hydraulics system; including development of AFE, overhaul maintenance strategy, engineering work-packs, and execution schedule and delivery • Conducted Fitness for service calculations/assessments on ASME VIII coded vessels and ASME B31.3 piping; resolved integrity issues with fuel gas scrubber, flare piping, aviation fuel lines, nitrogen line, 316 SS tubing, and seawater service piping. (Working knowledge of API 510, 579, 570/74, ASME Section VIII, B31.3, & PCC-1&2 standards) • Initiated preventive maintenance program to repair & provide recordkeeping of service for over 120 safety critical pressure relieving devices per API 510 standards; developed baseline survey for psv testing and maintenance.• Conducted root cause failure analysis of rotating equipment, mechanical integrity, & loss of primary containment failures; applied methodical problem solving which resulted in successful reduction of pump seal failure rates; implemented recommendations for tubing installation to remediate blowout occurrences, and revised torque specifications for shell to channel flanges on shell and tube heat exchanger to eliminate known gas leak. Updated site specific controlled design specifications to align with industry Standards and best practice • Responsible for the engineering design and construction of facility projects ranging from piping & tubing replacements and installs, packaged equipment decommissioning, & pressure vessel code repairs. • Verify and coordinate - MOC processes including active participation of risk assessments, pre startup safety reviews, and document & quality control. • Managed the planning and execution of turnaround projects which including supervising mechanical joint integrity checks as part of pre startup quality assurance.
Onshore Facilities - Project Engineer
Managed the design & execution of produced water handling & infrastructure capital projects ($3-5mln)• Provided forecasts, models and analysis to support need for $5mln capital expenditure in order to maintain approx $10mln in annual revenue; created tool to track and forecast production volumes vs. capacity • Designed and managed the construction of 8.5mile high pressure water collection/discharge pipeline including first implementation of HDPE pipe; developed basis of design, construction work packages, project timelines • Formulated budget by generating cost estimates; controlled spending by tracking actual spend vs. estimates • Negotiated procurement of materials and equipment with 3rd party suppliers, negotiated service agreements with 3rd party engineering & construction contractors, and negotiated land agreements with private entities• Managed the construction & on time delivery of produced water offloading and injection facilities; delivery came in under budget by approx $415k (12%); commissioned startup and authored operating procedures for facility.
