Since the invention of Internet, a lot of services and business models have been restructured, the ones who did not adapt, they perished. Starting with social media up until now and by now totally transforming the goods industry by practically taking everything online. I very deeply believe one more severe change is nigh. The Blockchain technology is going to turn the world of Financial Services upside down. The organizations which do not change will perish, and those who are ready to change will have an opportunity of a lifetime. My aim is to bridge the world of Finance and Decentralized Blockchain Technology. The first step to my mission is to earn a masters which will equip with me with required knowledge and skills, and then with the gathered knowledge, improve the scalability of blockchain by being the link between technological entrepreneurs and the ones who will finance them.My last 2 month internship at Fortune Gilts Pvt. Ltd. was a career defining decision, as I had the opportunity to work under a seasoned Bond Analyst who has had 9 years of working experience in the field. He emphasized on the rate of change in financial services with the advent of newer technologies, more efficient exchange markets and innovations of new analyzing techniques in the Financial Domain. My work as an Assistant Financial Analyst mainly revolved around analyzing government backed safe debt instruments, and pitching them to clients who have a large corpus of excess funds, which they want to invest in different low risk assets. In these two months I learned how the debt market functions on the stock exchanges, and what work is needed beyond the screen to lock in a good debt instrument.I am a CA Finalist, and working as an Article Assistant while pursuing Chartered Accountancy gave me the privilege of first hand experience of traditional financial accounting system in an ERP based environment. Two ERP's which I am now quite adept at using are SAP and Tally. I also taught myself to run a Macro, and use VBA commands in conjunction with normal commands in Excel, as it is an indispensable tool if one aims to handle data in this era. Learning the how Financial Reporting is done in various small sized and a few big sized clients has given me deep insights as to what a smooth accounting and finance management feels like and more importantly what it takes to make it truly efficient with the help of technology.
