Profile bio

About Tisa M. Anders, Phd

My greatest passions are writing and social justice involvement. I strive to combine the two in my professional life with my roles as scholar and activist. As a freelance writer/editor, I enjoy helping clients with the projects that improve quality of life, individually and organizationally. I contribute to bringing their professional accomplishments to life with words that exude energy and invite engagement. The primary thread in my own publications is the resurrection of lost or silenced voices starting in the 19th century with author/activist L. Maria Child, 19th and 20th centuries farmer/entrepreneur Junius G. Groves, and betabeleros in Western Nebraska (former Mexican-origin beet field workers). With my nonprofits and individual clients, I choose work that speaks to my heart such as black history, world peace, and prison work. I currently (2023) am writing my relationship memoir which shares the story of how one couple created a successful marriage by bridging the left-right political divide with their love and commitment to each other.Specialties: Research, Writing, Editing, Curriculum Development, Project Management, Public Speaking. Areas of scholarly work (Independent Historian): 19th Century U.S. Reform Movements, Religion and Social Change, Agricultural History (with special emphasis on African American farmer and businesman, Junius G. Groves, Sugar Culture Project). Background image: Sugar Beet Workers mural by Carlos Hernandez Chavez
