Flight Department Avionics Technician well versed in testing and troubleshooting of Garmin G1000 Integrated Avionics Systems, components, wiring, installation, and associated test equipment. Promoted to Flight Department Avionics Team Lead in May 2007, where I was responsible for all aircraft in the production process from avionics installation to customer delivery. As Avionics Lead, I implemented a far more in-depth pre-flight operational and functional test procedure, resulting in a 42% decrease in flight test avionics squawks over six short months. Apart from my duties as a flight-line troubleshooter on avionics systems, I also attended monthly leadership training luncheons, and received further training on Six Sigma, and LEAN principals.
Aviation Electronics Technician
Enlisted as Aviation Electronics Technician in 1996, duties were to maintain and repair electronic communications systems and in flight navigation and detection systems. I maintained a “Secret” security clearance. I was involved in bench testing of radar systems, tactical displays, IFF equipment, radar altimeters, Doppler navigation equipment, radio navigation equipment, aircraft digital data systems, and electronic countermeasures equipment. I have been deeply rooted in digital logic, and system software interface. Well versed in ATLAS, BASIC+, and FORTRAN programming languages.In 1998, I acquired Collateral Duty Inspection authority, directly responsible for quality of finished product, and safety of flight. I inspected all line replaceable units repaired on a three bay digital computer automated test station. I have also inspected ALQ-99 Electronic Countermeasures Weapons Systems in compliance with approved field service manuals.In January of 2000 was promoted to Branch Production Supervisor, in charge of attending daily production meetings, managing workload reports, and overseeing the production efforts of three separate work centers, and approximately 150 people. I was also responsible for performance evaluations of junior personnel. I’ve received formal leadership training for upper management supervisors exploring different techniques in conflict resolution and motivation.I was hand-picked in November of 2001 to become a US Navy Aviation Maintenance Training Command Instructor. I have instructed students on testing and troubleshooting methods acceptable for highly complex, high power, jamming transmitter systems. As an instructor I learned how to deliver effective lectures employing different questioning and communication techniques. I gained invaluable knowledge of instructor guides, lesson planning, instructional strategies, selection of visual aids, lesson design, material evaluation, clear presentation, and platform speaking skills.
