Eliciting requirements from internal stakeholders globally across multiple business lines to provide requirements for a global system with the ability to be configured per business line, facilitating different operating models while leveraging similarities.

Working with teams globally to analyse business requirements, document business and functional requirements and collaborate on solutions to drive efficiency, effectiveness and competitive advantage.Key Achievements:- Elicited requirements, collaborated on the solution, and managed outsourced development staff for a multiple Food and Water laboratory consolidation for a large public sector client in the Middle East. Assessed existing systems and processes, led standardisation of processes and systems while simultaneously reducing the number of operating locations from five to two, including facilitation and support of business change management.- Facilitated vendor selection for an Office 365 role out partner for a 35,000 user migration from an existing cloud based email provider.

Management of the small software development company specialising in providing bespoke solutions to local businesses.Key Achievements:- Delivered two projects for a 500+ student, 100+ teacher secondary school. Elicited requirements, identified the solutions and managed development for a classroom booking system and a teacher absence booking system. Assessed existing processes and issues, identified two open-source applications suitable for modification to meet exact requirements and managed the development and implementation of solutions.

A varied role in a fast-moving environment, from client facing to project management and solution design.Responsibilities as IT Project Manager:- Project Management - Ensuring projects across UK and Ireland met business needs, ran within agreed timescales and budgets.- Cross-functional team management – Developers, Support and IS Client Liaison.- Management of outsourced developers for extended bespoke software development.- Design, implementation and management of infrastructure.- Facilitating change management within the business.- Ensuring system and maintenance procedure compliance with ISO 17025 standards.- Liaising with clients on special projects include ETL’s and special reporting.- Disaster recovery and data backup design and implementation.Key Achievements:- Designed and Specified a VMWare Virtual Server Environment hosting Active Directory, SQL and Terminal Services servers providing centralised, highly available and redundant services to four sites across the UK and Ireland.- Elicited requirements, collaborated on solution design, team leader and key contributor to Multilab LIMS – a centralised laboratory information management system to replace individual laboratory systems (180 users, 5 sites, 2,500 samples per day). The centralised system permitted a reduced development footprint, increased laboratory efficiency and throughput. Led teams deploying Multilab LIMS to four sites in the UK and Ireland between 2008 and 2011. Each deployment included initial GAP analysis and configuration up to and including delivery and ongoing support.

Initially responsible for managing IT requirements and delivery for the Grimsby site. A new Food and Consumer Products IT team was formed to support and develop systems across the five sites within the UK and Ireland. As a result, the role expanded to include division wide projects.Key Achievements:- Elicited requirements, collaborated on solution design and key contributor to Food and Consumer Products Client Portal – a centralised replacement for WebTest (600 customers). Application was designed to serve clients through a single point of entry while the organisation utilised five unique LIMS systems across the UK and Ireland, allowing the submission of physical samples to multiple labs within the group. Application included the ability to submit samples, track progress, retrieve results, reporting, result trending and invoice delivery.

Sole responsibility for IT across the business. Merging of the laboratories into a single premises and establishing an IT team to support growth.Key Achievements:- Designed initial and revised network infrastructure at the Grimsby site.- Elicited requirements for, sourced and managed a phone system satisfying all user requirements at the Grimsby site.- Elicited requirements, led solution design and managed development staff for Labtest - a laboratory information management system used internally to manage all aspects of the testing process (80 users, 2000 samples per day). Management of in-house and outsourced developers for initial release and all subsequent revisions over a period of 8 years. Labtest enabled the business to grow from 400 samples to 2000 samples per day with a scalable workflow and barcodes.- Elicited requirements, led solution design and managed development staff for WebTest - a web based system providing online submission of samples, tracking of sample progress and delivery of results with result trending facilities (130 customers). At peak use, 70% of submitted samples and 95% of all results were delivered through WebTest. As the first online portal in the industry, WebTest provided a unique selling point which facilitated growth from £1.5 million to £2.5 million in the first 12 months of being offered.
