I have been editor-in-chief of Cartoon Movement since its inception in 2010. Setting out to connect cartoonists from all over the globe in the digital age and to promote the political cartoon, Cartoon Movement has grown into one of the leading cartoon websites in the world. Bringing together almost 700 professional cartoonists from over 80 countries, Cartoon Movement publishes cartoon perspectives on world news. We are financially independent: we pay our cartoonists for the work they publish with us, and we make our money by selling cartoons from our archive of 90,000+ images to media and other organizations around the world.

Cartooning for Peace aims to promote a better understanding and mutual respect between people of different cultures and beliefs using editorial cartoons as a universal language. Cartooning for Peace facilitates meetings of professional cartoonists of all nationalities with a wide audience, to promote exchanges on freedom of expression and recognition of the journalistic work of cartoonists. Cartooning for Peace also provides protection and legal assistance to cartoonists working in difficult environments, as well as advice and support in the exercise of their profession.

Hilversum

For The Netherlands Institute for Sound and Vision Institute I give workshops to high school students that focus on editorial cartoons. Students learn what editorial cartoons are, how they work and, perhaps most importantly, why they matter. After the theory, they are challenged to create their own political cartoon about a subject that matters to them.

Voor het Persmueum in Amsterdam geef ik workshops over politieke cartoons aan leerlingen van het voortgezet onderwijs en aan volwassenen. In de workshop wordt uitgelegd wat politieke cartoons zijn en waarom ze belangrijk zijn. Deelnemers gaan daarna zelf aan de slag om een politieke cartoon te maken.

VJ Movement is a collaboration of more than 150 professional video journalists and cartoonists from almost 100 countries.I have been involved with VJ Movement since 2008, setting up a global network of professional editorial cartoonists. This network proved so successful that the decision was made to create a platform and community specifically for cartoons and cartoonists, the Cartoon Movement.
