Industrial DesignerThe Step2 Company Jul 2006 - Feb 2014Streetsboro, OhioA rotational molding manufacturer specializing in toys, home and garden products, furniture and business to business ventures. I had Ownership of each product from concept to finished good. Worked with marketing, sales, safety, engineering, manufacturing, buyers and consumers throughout the development process. I needed to quickly develop 2D visualizations to gain support for concepts, then prove them with quick study models and durable breadboards for testing with consumers. I created final models with Pro E/ Creo and worked with an onsite modeling team to create full scale finished models. I Worked with engineering, safety, and manufacturing to ensure a seamless roll out into the manufacturing and testing stages. This required detailed understanding of various manufacturing technologies, and safety regulations as well as balancing the schedules of domestic and foreign manufacturers in rotational, blow, injection molding and textiles. The large variety of products required research into trends, technology, aesthetics and consumer demands in sectors from child development, fashion, automotive, home and garden, commercial industries and more. -
