In 2001 I graduated in 2001 as a software engineer at the Noordelijke Hogeschool Leeuwarden, in short NHL. It's a university of applied sciences in the city of Leeuwarden. After graduation, I joined the organization. The first year as a project manager at the Computer Vision Lab. After that first year, I became a teacher at the study Communication & Multimedia Design. In that department, I have been a coordinator of the propaedeutic year and the minor Game Design. In 2006 I started my own company Osinga Software. During the last 17 years, I have created three systems, which I used to build websites and web applications for small companies and organizations.After I left the NHL in 2013, I worked at Lable for seven years as a backend developer. First as contractor, later fulltime. Lable is the proud developer of Lable Care, software for the elderly health care sector. In January 2020, I moved from Lable to OCLC. At OCLC, I started as senior software engineer, working on the application suite called Wise, software for public libraries. Our team has the focus on integrating needs of the US market into Wise. As of February 2022, I'm the development lead of our team.Aside from the professional career, I try to add value to society with voluntary work, like:- Chairman of the participation council of the elementary school De Sprankel in Stiens.- Board member of the korfball club CSL.- Member of the technician team of the protestant church in Stiens (projector, audio, video and other technical stuff).- Voluntary work for the Lama Gangchen Peace Foundation, either in The Netherlands and Albagnano, Italy.Prior voluntary work:- Board member of the local department of the political party CDA- Campaign manager of the local department of the political party CDA- Member of the campaign team of the political party CDA for the province of Fryslân.In the area of music, I'm uneducated, but I have been doing this for many years, playing in several bands and projects. Current participations are:- Bas singer the NHL Stenden Choir- Bas player and singer of the band United- Bas player and singer of the gospelrock band Grace- Several projects, like the latest cd release in fall 2021: It alderbêste dan mar.In the area of spirituality, I try to combine christianity and buddhism. Christianity as a valuable legacy of how I was raised, and buddhism as a worldview which I discovered later in life, but truly fits me.All of the above, can only be achieved, knowing that I have the most important of life right at home: my family.
