As the Co-Founder and Firmware Lead of SFU UAS, I spearhead developing and implementing advanced firmware solutions for our innovative hexacopter drone. My role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, including:• Firmware Development: Leading the design, coding, and testing of the hexacopter's flight control firmware using C++ on the Raspberry Pi 4, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.• System Integration: Overseeing the integration of the flight controller, electronic speed controllers (ESCs), and various sensors to create a cohesive and efficient drone system.• Technical Leadership: Providing guidance and technical expertise to the development team, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment to drive the project's success.• Problem Solving: Addressing and resolving complex technical challenges related to flight stability, motor control, and real-time telemetry.• Documentation: Maintaining thorough documentation of the firmware development process, including code comments, technical manuals, and user guides to facilitate future development and user understanding.Our project aims to push the boundaries of drone technology, focusing on delivering high-performance, customizable, and reliable hexacopter solutions for various applications.
