Ever since college when I worked in the scene shop by day and performed on stage by night, I've been able to fit comfortably in both creative and technical environments. The majority of my workdays since college have been spent in a broadcast news control room. The fast, urgent pace of doing a live newscast can be stressful for most but that's where I flourish and thrive. It's the same when I'm on stage. I love the instant feedback of a live space and captivating their attention, laughter, sympathy-- connecting with the audience is something that comes natural to me. This also transferred well to the classroom when I was an adjunct professor at TU. Storytelling is at the heart of everything I do. Whether it's through comedy, video editing, writing, curating playlists and posts on social-- any media that's available to me-- I love finding the best way to share a story and connect with people. It's also made me a strong leader and communicator in the workplace. I'm good at knowing how to talk to people of varying personalities; from the talkative morning person to the grouchy introvert, I work well with them all. Theatre, news, advertising, comedy-- they all require intense collaboration and I often find myself at the center of it, helping make the connections and compromises. That being said I'm also great at working independently and alone. I grew up an only child and for ten years I was the custodial single parent of my three amazing kids. All of this has helped me survive in any environment from the chaotic to the monotonous, alone or in a crowd, behind the scenes or center stage. I'm present and ready.
