Under supervision of Prof. Kiorpes it is investigated how amblyopic subjects process motion compared to subjects with normal vision. Behavior is correlated with neuronal recordings from extrastriate areas such as area MT. The Visual Neuroscience lab is led by Prof. Lynne Kiorpes and Prof. Anthony J. Movshon.

Moderator of Matlab Knowledge Database on the intranet of the Donders Institute for Brain, Cognition and Behaviour.The Knowledge Database must play an important role as a helpdesk for all employees of all Centres of the DI. My goal is to construct a solid framework that will aid people to teach and to use the Matlab application. To achieve this I want to make use of existing knowledge and expertise. I consider it important that the framework I design is approved by experts and moderation can be passed on when I have finished my PhD degree.

The group has a variety of experimental setups that allow us to test healthy human subjects as well as patients and animals in a variety of perception tasks including visual, auditory and vestibular tasks.- Psychophysics in humans to investigate the control of the oculomotor system.- Neurophysiology (electrode recordings) to examine the visual and auditory localization system of head-free and head-fixed awake behaving non-human primates.- Several sound localization experiments that give insight to auditory perception.- Interaction of the sound localization system and the vestibular system.- Subject of auditory adaptation experiments.

The group focuses on the neural mechanisms of contour binding and the role of attention in the primary visual cortex.- Involved in a neurophysiology (single unit recordings) project of visual object recognition by Macaque monkeys. Supervised by Dr. Sancho I. Moro.- Psychophysical experiments with human subjects on perceptual binding of objects. Supervised by Dr. Roos Houtkamp.In 2008 the NORI Institute has fused into the Netherlands Institute for Neuroscience (NIN), which is an institute of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW).

Trainee at Auditory Research Lab at the Department of Medical Physics and Biophysics at the University of Nijmegen, NL, led by Prof. dr. A. John Van Opstal. This group investigates the information processing in the nervous system underlying auditory perception.- Worked on dynamic localization of auditory and visual stimuli in humans. Supervised by Dr. Joyce Vliegen.In 2008 the department of Medical Physics and Biophysics has fused into the Donders Institute for Brain, Cognition and Behaviour, and became part of the Donders Centre for Neuroscience (DCN).

Topics were speech characteristics, Sound localization, properties of action potentials and linear systems with the superior colliculus as subject.
