This application is the heart of Target's merchandising system with over 150 integrations with other applications. The project was estimated at $100 million and needed board approval. The program had multiple deliverables spanning 4 years that resulted in the consolidation of various Item systems, providing consistent experience to customers while improving data quality.Led a team of 18+ team members and 15+ contractors across multiple locations, to implement a COTS package to new business areas within the Product Design & Development department. This enabled the business to significantly reduce the turnaround time for Target Branded products from Design to sales floor. Sharing of large files with overseas vendor required collaborated with Infrastructure and support teams to meet desired application performance. -
Manager – Merchandising & Supply Chain DevelopmentTarget Apr 2002 - Mar 2006Minneapolis, Mn, UsBuilt a strong reputation for delivering large complex projects.Led the rewrite of a 20+ year old legacy batch Sales and Inventory application on IMS (Mainframe) to a web based near real time application. This was a multi-year project with a team larger than 50 developers onsite and offshore. This project laid the foundation for real time inventory at Target for the first time and helped reduce the gap between Financial and Unit inventory from 10-15% down to 2-4%. The Inventory System also had over 100 integrations with various internal applications in several aspects of retail. My team received the CIO award for the successful delivery of this project and was also recognized as a leader for implementing offshore best practices.Led a team of 6+ team members and 10+ contractors to build a new web application for our import business. The project was over 5 million dollars and was a consolidation of separate applications that performed various import functions. Key accomplishment included leading the team through the six sigma process to prioritize deliverables. -
