Thank you for taking an interest in my profile, whoever you may be!I graduated in a Computer Science (BSc) degree, in 2016, after studying at the University of Hull. I previously worked in two junior roles as a developer, using mainly C# and Visual Basic, and finally moved to VISR in 2021 to pursue a career in mixed reality. My current job role is flexible and dynamic, requiring a solid understanding of the .NET Framework, Unity, Blender, Substance Designer, Substance Painter, TypeScript, Lua and MRTK.I've picked up solid experience in the pipeline of creating a finished project, from inception to release. This has involved discussing early design choices, adhering to a scrum to create deliverables, helping train up and onboard new developers, assisting with planning sprints, and receiving critical QA feedback - all the way through to finally shipping the product to the Meta Quest store. The software is called Stage - which acts as a collaborative VR learning environment that allows users to bring in their own custom content.Since then, we have formed a small team responsible for creating modded content within Stage where we're responsible for managing our time and resources. This involves using MoonSharp to create a backend service that Lua scripts can adhere to, then using a mixture of Lua and TypeScript to create bespoke mixed reality content for various clients.My burning passion and talents fall within game design and game programming. I have been developing concept art, graphics, music, animations, stories and small game projects for over ten years as a hobby. This originally started with pen and paper ideas, moving to projects created in RPG Maker (2k/3), Adobe Flash and GameMaker, but eventually moved to XNA/MonoGame/Unity due to the previous restrictions imposed by the aforementioned development suites. This lead to participation in various University-endorsed game-programming competitions such as Global Game Jam (awarded second place) and Three Thing Game.I now have over 5 years experience with Unity, delving into almost every single aspect of the engine at some point throughout my career. My specialities lie within physics, lighting and programming. I've been working on a personal project in my free time for ~4 years, which is where I've acquired most of my practical knowledge.
