Work-study through NC State studying the 3D printing of metal.I created and studied samples in the characterization lab. I generated molds, polished and microscopically imaged the molded samples, and used software to determine their porosity. By being punctual and attentive, I completed the Tungsten Carbide-Cobalt molds and analysis necessary to continue my project leader's research. I learned to use heat molding machines, diamond cutters, and polishers, as well as devices like Microtrac particle characterizers and HIROX digital microscopes. This position most directly improved my time management and responsibility skills, as balancing work with a full semester of classes required precise planning and drive.

I learned punctuality, proper dress, and professional communication by setting and clearing tables in a high-scale french diner. I was promoted to Head-Busser within 3 months of employment due to my consistency and reliability.I learned professional service and communication skills by respectfully interacting with the customers, yet on a personal level as to enhance their dining experience. This gave me an early ability to naturally associate with others in a professional setting. I also developed real-world time management skills before entering college. I learned to prioritize my work and focus on staying proactive by working several 6-hour nightly shifts a week through my senior year (while maintaining an exceptional GPA and participating in extracurricular activities and sports).
