I am the owner & operator of My Family's Heart a virtual book tour and advertising company for indie authors. We organize events from cover reveals to tours to get the word out about these authors newest books. We also have many advertising opportunities and run two newsletters geared towards our bloggers and most importantly our authors.

Willis acquired Carter Insurance Group. I started as a commercial rater, rating Property & Casualty (Property, CGL, Crime, IM, Auto, Garage & Umbrella) for the AutoServiceGuard Program, CarPac Program, Bed & Breakfast Program, ResortGuard Program and the newest program Rent-It-Guard.Duties included reviewing the applications, getting the class codes, specific rate cards, verifying coverages and rating the accounts to get the price needed to sell. I also set up and trained others on the Rackley Rating System and DocuCorp issuance system for the AutoService Guard program. Creating useful and easy to follow Rating manuals for the 4 main programs in our office and began working on the rating manuals for the Rent-It-Guard program. I also created and maintained the forms schedules that were used to ensure that all mandatory ISO, carrier and optional forms were always added to a policy at time of quoting & issuance. While training in the Associate Underwriter position I learned the set up of the files as well as how to underwrite the accounts, review them to make sure they were a fit for the program, to follow up with brokers for information needed in order to rate, quote & bind accounts. Prepared the rating instructions to have the account rated, presented the account to the underwriter with the prepared proposal and account summary, bound accounts when they came in and sent it to be issued. I maintained our branch managers surplus and nonresident licensing and ensured they stayed current and all required monthly, quarterly and annual reports were signed, notarized and filed on time with the state. I prepared files for audits making sure they were ready and complaint for carrier and state audits. I developed many rating worksheets for coverages or parts of coverages that would not rate in the rating systems.
