Performed research, testing and inspection of commercial vehicles as it pertains to crashworthiness issues, restraint systems, seating and other safety system components. Performed crash simulation utilizing EDCRASH crash reconstruction software. Designed and fabricated alternate designs of activators for seat belt pretensioning.

Served as Lead Project Engineer in the Dual Stage Weight Sensing Energy Attenuating Seat (DSWSEAS) program, sponsored by U.S. Army Research Labs. The purpose of the DSWSEAS is to reduce mine blast injury to occupants of armored vehicles.Lead the design, development and fabrication of a pneumatic energy-attenuating seating system. Created the test program, which utilized Hybrid III crash test dummies and on-site drop tower testing. Designed the drop tower and supervised its construction. Supervised testing of the prototype seat and occupant ATD to collect system characteristics and improve system performance. My DSWSEAS design was assigned a patent and I am a Co-inventor for US Patent No. 8439420 B2 Dual stage variable load energy absorber for vehicle seating.

Managed and developed hydraulic and air brake testing programs for Class 4 through 8 commercial vehicles. Responsible for defining tests, procuring parts, and scheduling personnel. Supervised test execution and provide performance status to Design Engineering. Evaluated large vehicle programs; Low Cab Forward Brake Control Module; Full Power Brake System and ABS, Low Cab Forward ABS, ProStar ABS performance; Brake Foundations and Tires. Contributed to off-site testing through Bendix, TRW and Meritor-WABCO events and Transportation Research Center. Lead engineer for Death Valley Brake Fade testing.Created the test protocol for Vehicle Veer analysis, ABS ECU performance, Low Cab Forward Brake Control Module development and Tire performance. Designed the low coefficient test surface at the Indiana Proving Grounds.Served as design engineer for NGV (Next Generation Vehicle) program - Medium Duty, Severe Service cooling systems. Interfaced with suppliers on component development, system definition and engineering releases. Performed analysis to support Medium Duty Vehicle - V8 cooling system development, Star-CD Computational Fluid Dynamic software.
