We believe in healing, patience, and fostering authentic connections for black women to thrive. Role Description This is a full-time hybrid role for a Founder at BLK Girl Space. The Founder will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the community, developing and implementing strategies to support black women, organizing events and workshops, and fostering relationships within the community. Some remote work is acceptable. •Developing and directing organizational strategy.•Drafting organizational policies and philosophies.•Overseeing day-to-day business activities.•Conducting performance reviews.•Preparing comprehensive budgets.•Reporting on revenue and expenditure.•Engaging with community groups.

• Provide comfortable yoga techniques for pregnant mothers.• Assist with relaxation techniques and breathing exercises.•Practice meditation and promote mindfulness in addition to overall wellbeing.

• Provide a continuous source of comfort, encouragement and support, both emotional and physical during labor.• Assist with relaxation techniques and breathing exercises.• Offer advice on labor positions.• Act as a mediator and an advocate who's there to run interference with hospital personnel. •Provide on call services.• Provide a non-medical pain-management techniques including massage, reflexology, aromatherapy, music and mantras.

• Coordinate in-person home and community visits for families to educate about Lead Poisoning.• Manage Project readiness, relocation and project closure in the Lead Safe Homes Program. • Coordinate and recruit relocation vendors to ensure families have different options and meet program relocation budget cost.• Work closely with Field Manager, Project Manager, Contractors, and Community Members to ensure families and children receive support.

•Provide assessment, problem solving, information referral, and crisis intervention when necessary.•Assist clients in developing an action plan.•Accurately enter documents and client’s contact information into database.•Provide advocacy for clients experiencing difficulties or lacking in abilities needed to make effective contacts with agencies, programs or groups.

•Provided individualized behavioral and academic intervention to ten groups of 15-20 girls.•Advocated on behalf of the youth to better assist parents, educational staff, and program partners.•Organized events and programs for staff, board and community members with an average of 200+ attendees such as Holiday Party, Block Party, College and Career Readiness events.•Facilitated sexual health, STD, and pregnancy prevention curriculum.•Prepared executive director’s speech for public speaking engagements.•Collected and entered data into database system to monitor attendance and academic goal updates.

•Assisted participants in understanding effective SMART goal setting techniques and interpersonal skills.•Provided evidence-based practices in Youth Development and Conflict Resolution with youth and adults.•Supervised part-time staff and provided feedback for professional development growth.•Provided ongoing support and encouragement to youth in order to empower growth and self-efficacy.
