I am part of the group that conceptualized a new team structure within our business and now have stepped into a role leading that team. I implemented our designs and adapted them to real-world scenarios while renewing tactics, tools, and processes across multiple locations.I transitioned into this role in February of 2020 and then watched the world change in March. Throughout the COVID Pandemic, my team and I pioneered solutions for new obstacles, collaborating with varying stakeholders at all levels of the business.My day-to-day includes meeting with the senior leadership teams at the locations I support and reporting to our regional leadership. I also control the accounts payable and financial reporting for the locations that I support.

I was promoted to the primary leadership team of our Chicago location. As the Business Manager, I managed multiple projects with major impact on the future of our relationship with our client. I collaborated with senior and corporate leadership to design policy for the entire enterprise and coordinated efforts to improve local methodology.My day-to-day involved controlling monetary transactions and financial reporting. It was my responsibility to account for monthly budgeting and inventory shrink. I oversaw the team responsible for accurate bookkeeping, which included the direct supervision of two managers and seventeen administrative clerks with diagonal oversight over seven shift managers and eighty-five unionized employees.I also had a responsibility to develop people into effective managers. I did so by focusing on the growth of future leaders and advocating internal advancement. I constantly try to build redundancy into my operation through the expansion of individual skillsets, both technical and interpersonal.

My primary responsibility was to maintain proper inventory levels for warehouses in Chicago and New Orleans. I had a direct impact on the 100% achievement of two of six contractual KPI’s, namely our Days on Hand and product Spoilage. I also supervised the receiving department in Chicago where I streamlined the system for keeping track of merchandise arrival.I also helped pioneer the centralized purchasing initiative where we controlled national inventory through one purchasing team instead of individualizing each location. As part of that team, I provided business analytics to our senior leadership through SQL and database reporting.

I oversaw the daily operations and management staff of our warehouse in Oakland. I wore many hats while fulfilling my obligations which include hiring, training, business process planning, client interface, and P+L accountability.In this role, I had a significant impact on our bottom line in regards to safety, labor, and inventory control. I led a paradigm shift in workplace safety, bringing our OSHA recordable rating down from 14.1 to 4.5 over two years. I also revisited the site's labor plan and improved our ability to meet our obligations to our client while reducing our weekly spend on labor. I also had a hand in re-tooling our business process to help reduce our monthly inventory shrink.

I managed the daily operations of two warehouses and 80 union employees. My duties included scheduling and planning labor, direct interaction with our client, business process planning, inventory control, as well as discipline and discharge.I was named the "Safety Champion" for our location. As such, I oversaw the steering committee which formulated new safety practices and policies. I also coordinated our team of volunteer safety observers who collected the data that the steering team used to observe trends and predict exposures.My team in Chicago was always on the cutting edge of innovation for our client. We piloted numerous programs and equipment before full implementation. One of my prouder moments was when the training program that I wrote for Chicago caught the attention of my superiors and was implemented at every location across the nation.
