I emphasize relevancy, fun, and making personal connections in my teaching, which helps my students take ownership of their learning and find their own connection to the world they are in. I value instruction driven by standards and assessments that provide my students with goals to strive for and achieve. I have valuable experience with differentiated instruction using technology as a tool for collaboration, communication, and research. I am further trained in the Capturing Kids' Hearts and the Positive Behavior Intervention System (P.B.I.S) programs for building positive, safe, reflective, and professional relationships with students. I have particular experience using the Google Education Suite to facilitate student access to technology in school and at home. I am motivated to work collaboratively on instructional planning across my grade level and school. I also value building a school community with my students, parents, and colleagues. I have worked as an academic advisor to Student Council and the Educational Tour Club, where I supervised 38-75 students on educational trips to New York City and Washington, D.C..
