I am the author of THE TALE OF IMANI THE BUNNY and BOUGHT WISDOM: Tales of Living and Learning.Several accomplishments qualify me as an expert in education:+ I am featured in Chapter 12 of Walking the Equity Talk: A Guide for Culturally Courageous Leadership in School Communities by John Robert Browne II.+ I was the founding principal of North Carolina’s first early college high school which is among the first such schools of its kind in the world.+ I am recognized by as one of Six HBCU Grads You Should Know, in NU∙tribe Magazine (featured as “The Educator”).+ I was responsible for California’s second largest portfolio of public charter schools.+ I am a fellow of British-American Project.+ I was Superintendent-in-Residence with the National Center for Urban School Transformation at San Diego State University.+ I am the recipient of three Fulbright awards (Fulbright Memorial Fund Teacher Program, Fulbright Educator Exchange-Jordan, Fulbright Administrator Exchange-Thailand).+ I was recognized for Service to Education by the State of Georgia, Office of the Governor.+ I am a two-time recipient of the Joseph B. Whitehead Educator of Distinction Award. + I was honored with the Alveta H.
