I am a scientist, engineer, and inventor interested in bridging the gap between robotics, controls, design, prosthetics, biomechanics, and rehabilitation. I create bionic wearable technologies that help people walk and move better.Currently, I am an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Utah, and a core Faculty in the Utah Robotics Center, where I direct the HGN Lab for Bionic Engineering. I am also the Director of the Ergonomics and Safety Program at the Rocky Mountain Center for Occupational and Environmental Health. Previously, I was a Research Scientist at the Center for Bionic Medicine of the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago. I received a PhD in Biorobotics from Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna in Italy and the Master of Science in biomedical engineering from the University of Pisa.
