Biztalk Developer/ArchitectSalient Logic Oct 2022 - Sep 2024While under contract was tasked with delivering a full analysis of the existing on-premises BizTalk and MuleSoft environments for transitioning to Azure Integration Services. The integrations consist of SAP S4HANA/IDOC to and from Dynamics 365, SAP HANA/IDOC to and from Mainframe & AS400, and all messages to an archival transactional SQL cluster.Also responsible for mentoring client’s resource pool in the overall mapping of messages to and from the above mentioned. The ESB Architecture created allows the development team in implement integrations with a fraction of the work. This system was designed to leverage an Itinerary based integrations. The patterns implemented were message context, routing slip, scatter-gather, splitter, and recipient list. The supporting databases run on SQL Server 2012 in a Windows Server 2012 environment. Further responsibilities included the full design and implementation of all endpoints as well as the full architectural design, coding, implementation as well as deployment using custom PowerShell scripts designed and written by myself. -

The architecture is based upon the use of the highly efficient and scalable SOA scenarios. The core leverages the Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) wherein the architectural design was my main responsibilities. This included the guidance and mentoring of the onsite teams. -

The core BizTalk implementations were designed using an itinerary based paradigm. This allowed the client to implement new integrations in a third of the time. -

Custom web parts were created for the integration with the disparate data sources and communications between related web parts. Data integration and dissemination uses BizTalk 2009 HL7 w/MLLP adapter for all messages. This site is utilized by consumers and Ascension to collect and monitor biometric data. Users have the ability to invite family members to view different levels of data. This allows the HMO to have triggering Business Rules (BRE) for early intervention by healthcare providers. The data collection devices will be marketed by one of the largest retail electronic chains in America (Best Buy). -

These integrations included the supervision of 5 other BizTalk projects. All underlying code was written in C#. The integrations entailed the implementation of multiple preprocessing components as well as Application Integration Components. With the implementation came the opportunity to implement numerous Web Services into the integration as well as MSMQ, Rules Composer, Business Activity Services (BAS), Health and Activity Tracking (HAT), and Business Activity Manager (BAM). These integrations brought together 6 disparate applications through data integration between Siebel, SQL Server, and Oracle Financials. The core operational support is provided by a custom SharePoint Portal, delivering all aspects of all the integration to the endpoints. -

Supporting the Reporting Services were numerous cubes built with Analysis Server. The portal authentication was accomplished using Active Directory.

Solutions Architect/DeveloperInternational Network Services Dec 2004 - Jun 2005UsWhile under contract for the City Of Phoenix, Water Services Department (COPWS) was responsible for the architectural design and coding of a Win forms client application. This application is used for the central repository of all COPWS new services, meter installations, and work orders. The application was written using VS.NET in C# the data base is SQL Server 2000 with SharePoint Portal as the reporting service.Phase II responsibilities were to create multiple orchestrations using BizTalk 2004. These orchestrations use SQL Adapter for retrieval of an XML document that is sent to a Web Service Web Method that transfers the information to the partner’s database. The Web Method returns an EAI TransactionStatus object that is then persisted in the form of a response to the sender’s database. When the data sent is acted upon subsequent orchestrations are enlisted to return the data in its completed state, using the same methodology. -

These components facilitate the communications between the client and Tuxedo services running on a UNIX system. This base architecture is now being pursued as their best practice. The construction of the core components were written in Visual Basic 6.0. These components are now the core objects of their claims and provider contracts workflow. Another responsibility was to implement multiple messaging solutions for X12 EDI transactions. These BizTalk implementations mapped X12 EDI documents to XML using XSLT. The custom components allowed for the dissemination of X12 information through XML to SQL Server and Oracle databases. Also put in place parallel solutions using the HIPPA accelerator for BizTalk 2004. The orchestrations were created and set for deployment for the time when the client was to upgrade to BizTalk 2004 from BizTalk 2002.Additional responsibilities included guidance to the Enterprise Architecture team in the pursuit of a .Net Architecture.

Senior Solutions ArchitectDirect Alliance/Avanade Jun 2003 - Sep 2003The existing application is a web based application that is written using ASP, Visual Basic 6.0, COM+, and a SQL Server back-end. It is used for B2B and B2C commerce where some clients are in a different locale. The applications core pipeline is based on Commerce server 2002, using custom pipeline components that analyze campaign types, direct mailings and content. The front end language was locale centric. The entire application, using UTF8-UTF16 conversions, stores and displays multi-language data. The localization is controlled by SQL Server and onsite translators. All currency is also controlled through localization. Client catalogs and orders are able to be delivered via BizTalk in an EDI format.My responsibilities included leading 15 enhancement projects for the existing application as well as completing 3 of them myself. This team was composed of 7 high level developers. In parallel, an effort to optimize the existing code to function at a level that was 20-30 times faster was occurring. This was accomplished by replacing the existing heavily trafficked pages with .NET versions. By using the Dataset class in ADO.NET, C#, and the optimization of Stored Procedures (SQL Server 2000) proved to be the most effective manner in which to accomplish the goals. By using the Dataset in conjunction with the Data Relation object we were able to return an in memory data structure that gave the ability to persist data in an efficient manner.

The company provides title insurance in 49 states, the District of Columbia, Guam, Mexico, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands and Canada.SoftPro Corporation offers a complete library of programs for automating the closing and title process. The company also provides modules for order tracking and management, trust account management and reconciliation, custom forms design, 1099-S magnetic media reporting, title plant indexing, and amortization schedules.This shrink wrap suite of applications is written using MFC C++, leveraging the DocView framework. All data is stored in a proprietary binary format. The goal of the project was to define and document the clients existing architecture and create a new architecture that would allow for its migration to a purely .NET version, using C#. Additionally, the binary data was migrated to SQL Server 2000 data structure. Responsibilities included the creation of the data structure, optimization paradigms, stored procedures, and an offline SQL replication methodology. This was accomplished by creating a series of documents that is a road map for a phased implementation using a sub-set of RationalXDE’s inception phase. Additional responsibilities included the creation of a detailed estimate and resource load proposal. -

Technical Architect/Senior ConsultantRental Service Corporation (Rsc) Jan 2001 - Feb 2002The first project completed was a search engine and catalog system that facilitates the sales of used equipment. This system generates 30 million dollars in revenue on a monthly base. This system was written in ASP utilizing custom COM+ objects that interface with a SQL Server 2000 back end, using a n-tier architecture.In addition to the foregoing, designed and developed an online rental system that is currently being used by RSCs strategic customers. This system was written using Commerce Server 2000 and then migrated to 2002 (CS) and SharePoint 2000 Beta. The CS services that were included in this implementation are: Direct Mailer, Discounts, Campaigns, and the Predictor. Through the use of the predictor designed a dynamic content manager component that would analyze customer activities and apply them to the configurable rules engine, displaying and implementing customer specific campaigns and discounts. COM objects were written to facilitate the real time processing of transactions to the clients AS400. All DB2 data was pulled using SQL Server 2000 Data Transformation Services (DTS). Additional transactional capabilities are in place for the orchestration of strategic orders to the commerce application utilizing a BizTalk application integration component (AIC). This component has the ability to recognize any EDI document defined in proprietary configuration tables. The AIC is instantiated and passed the requisite data for transmission to the Commerce Server application. Upon the acceptance of the order a PO is returned to the customer. All Components and Services were written using Visual Basic 6.0.
