About Theresa Lieb
I lead Trellis' (formerly GreenBiz) nature and biodiversity strategy and programs, empowering business leaders around the globe to address the biodiversity and climate crises hand-in-hand. Chairing our biodiversity event Bloom is part of those efforts. In addition to my nature work, I facilitate the European community of GreenBiz's Trellis Network, a support system for sustainability leaders at the world's leading companies, and help our audience make sense of the growing sustainability-related EU policies and regulations. Today, I advance this mission by:🎥 Curating content that educates and empowers nature and biodiversity professionals.👨🌾 Convening a community of change-makers who prioritize collaboration over competition.🌍Connecting the dots between business, policy, academia and civil society initiatives, knowing that no single actor can solve today’s existential challenges on their own. I grew up in Germany in a family of chefs and farmers - caring about regenerative land-use is part of my DNA. But my worldview and expertise extend far beyond that. Over the past 14 years, I developed a marine conservation program with artisanal fisherfolk in Ecuador, leveraged German climate finance for Indigenous communities fighting deforestation in Brazil and operationalized WeWork’s global food program. I also studied under leading scientists at Oxford and Leiden University. Once we’ve solved the above, you’ll find me as a traveling writer and scuba diver. But for now, I'm based in The Hague, where I often try to get out into the beautiful Dutch dunes with my dog and husband.
