Associate Engineer for the Thermal Systems team at Lucid Motors

I was tasked with the development of a coupled impact-acoustic analysis for golf drivers using explicit non-linear transient and vibro-acoustic FEA. Further, I carried out a parametric study of the golf driver head shape, including a DoE and multivariable optimization. I also created technical documentation on the impact-acoustic process and presented it to a group of engineers and executives.

In this role, I worked on the product development of customer projects. I generated solutions to these projects through fluid dynamic modeling, vibrational testing of gaskets, and structural analysis. Additionally, I was trained in finite element analysis and topological, size, and shape optimization in HyperMesh and OptiStruct.

This internship involved working in Caterpillar's Innovation & Technology Development Division as a part of the Starting & Charging Components Team. My projects included the creation of new parts databases for starters & alternators, ensuring engineering drawing and specification accuracy, and failure analysis of starters and alternators. Parts databases were designed to include part specifications, performance data, obsolescence information, and regulatory compliance. Each of these projects required communication and coordination with external suppliers to ensure the accuracy of all relevant specifications within the scope of the design team.

Teaching assistant for Computing for Engineers at Georgia Institute of Technology focusing on introductory programming concepts using MATLAB. Co-led weekly review recitations, tutored students, and was involved in writing, proctoring, and assessing course exams.

During this internship, I assisted in the design and manufacturing of parts and hardware for various projects, including the company's main market of aftermarket racing boat hardware. This internship had a strong focus on machining with a variety of tools, including heavy usage of CNC & manual mills, lathes, drill presses, bandsaws, and power tools.
