Curatorial Assistant
CurrentRegistration & Collections Management• Process all new acquisitions into collection & create associated records, totaling approximately 2,100 objects through 2023• Manage incoming & outgoing loans, amounting to over 100 international & domestic loans with over 1,200 objects total during tenure• Facilitate packing, shipment, condition reporting, and movement of incoming & outgoing loan objects• Liaison for fine art shippers, crate makers, custom brokers, & lenders• Manage intellectual control by organizing & maintaining object documentation, and conducting annual checks & full collection inventory • Oversee collections care to promote preventative conservation• Collaborate with security & facilities departments to maintain safe environments for object exhibition and storage Curatorial • Collaborate with Curator & Archivist to research and writes exhibit scripts• Conduct historical research online & in institution’s archival holdings • Collaborate with exhibit team to develop, design, & construct exhibits• Contribute to exhibit design by offering cost-saving alternatives, schematic design recommendations, & assist in construction• Contribute to exhibit installation, maintenance, & de-installation• Foster relationships with lenders & donorsEducation & Outreach • Develop & implement social media strategy drive by collections and events at the Pilgrimage Center, managing a team of 3 in content creation of over 1,600 posts between 2019 and 2023• Collaborate in creation and delivery of virtual programming, including scriptwriting, presentation design, post-production, & technical support• Develop exhibit tours and educational activities for both temporary & core exhibits, coordinating with Visitor Services in implementation• Provide school, groups, & VIP tours• Supervise interns, delegating projects & providing training • Answer external & internal research requests
