I design, curate and schedule instructional resources--lab equipment, demonstrations, space, supporting personnel--for undergraduate physics instruction.

A social entrepreneur in an academic setting, I use a community lens to diagnose and address a broad range of challenges and opportunities in STEM education and international development. These include curriculum design, professional development and integrated STEM community experiences for teachers, supporting them with platforms to invite their students into data analysis in high energy physics, molecular nanoelectronics, astrophysics, genetics, and high performance computing. On the international development side, these include networking for an enduring community response to the challenges of dignified globalization in post-conflict areas, integrating off-grid electrification, ICT-for-development resources, and support for business communities through education and financing.

Sponsored by Accenture and managed through the Notre Dame Initiative for Global Development, CE3 has brought together Connectivity, rural Electrification and Education for Entrepreneurship in Northern Uganda since 2013, and to South Africa in 2015. I have represented BOSCO-Uganda as a strategic and implementing partner since the program's inception, and now provide project management support to BOSCO's CE3 team.

BOSCO promotes dignified globalization in Northern Uganda by fostering creation of an international community around the establishment of Internet access, off-grid electrification, entrepreneurial training, and peacebuilding.As a founding board member (volunteer) of the US-based 501(c)(3) BOSCO, Inc., I fundraise, market, and provide technical advice and assistance to BOSCO-Uganda (https://boscouganda.com), which from the early days of the project has been established under the managerial structure of the Archdiocese of Uganda. I advise and manage online elements of BOSCO's web presence and web 2.0 technical training. As a STEM educator I have helped to design, implement and do in-country professional development for classroom-to-classroom activities using collaboration technologies. I identified, wrote and shepherded BOSCO-Uganda's successful campaign for the 2010 Breaking Borders Award in Technology from Google and Global Voices; served as co-PI for the Accenture-sponsored Connectivity for Entrepreneurship, Electrification and Education (CE3) project through Notre Dame's Initiative for Global Development; and as PI for incorporation of smart zero client computing from Hewlett Packard into CE3 through BOSCO-Uganda.

Coordinated development of user interface and scaffolding for e-Labs from the CMS and LIGO experiments; provided teacher professional development and guided student research groups in using these resources. After 12 months, I2U2 funding rolled into my position in the Physics Department at the University of Notre Dame.

I taught Chemistry and Integrated Chem/Physics at Saint Joe for two years; in 2005 I founded the Saint Joseph's High School Research Community, which I led as a volunteer from 2007 until 2013.

Courses taught:High School level: Chemistry (8 yr), Senior Science Laboratory, Humane Letters 11,12 (8 yr), Geometry/Precalculus (4 yr), Physics (2 yr), Physical ScienceMiddle School Level: New Testament (4 yr), General ScienceIT: I supervised a project to wire the school and install a "thick client"/terminal services computing architecture for the school's computer lab; I managed the computer lab for several years. With Patrick Mooney I designed and implemented a mobile computing lab for science courses, including virtual labs in chemistry and use of Vernier equipment for the physics course; I was part of a team that introduced ASU-style Modeling for the introductory physics course.

Chaired the three-year Common Curriculum project that articulated educational outcomes intended for all UP graduates. The document we produced was passed unanimously by the Academic Senate.Served as Secretary for the Academic Senate.Courses taught: Medieval Philosophy, Ancient Philosophy, Music and Education in Plato, Rationality, Philosophy of Science, Informal Logic, Intro to Philosophy, Engineering Ethics, Ethics of Health Care, Professional Ethics (graduate level), Business Ethics, Ethics, Philosophy of Human Nature (75 semester sections, in all; 20 of Engineering Ethics.)

Taught Business Ethics and Informal Logic.

I conducted fluorescence studies on spread monolayers at the air-water interface. My presentation of that research won first place in the St. Joe Valley chapter of the American Chemical Society Student Research competition. Results were published in the Journal of Chemical Physics.
