During my time supporting the Special Communications Requirements Division, I applied my financially focused background to solve vendor invoice issues, by applying detail-oriented data analysis, collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders, and enhancing communication among the team. I worked with recruiters to develop a recruiting strategy, assisted in the development of job requisitions, and conducted interviews. I drafted project management guidelines for incoming project managers, drafted statements of work, and enhanced my knowledge of material procurement processes. I facilitated material with purchase requests for large procurements and made recommendations for process improvement. I conducted warehouse audits and studied ISO Certification requirements. My time supporting the program was a wonderful growth opportunity in learning the more technical aspects of project management and procurement processes.

After earning my MA in Communication, I was promoted to manager and took on a more complex set of projects. Through years of learning alongside some very experienced program managers and business financial managers, I gained the skills required to be considered a subject matter expert (SME) within the ETS division PCA (Program Control Analyst) community. I gained expert knowledge of ManTech’s oracle based accounting tool and excel. I routinely found and resolve discrepancies, developing a reputation for being a fixer. As I excelled, I was assigned to the more complicated programs while growing my management skills, training and mentoring a team of financial analysts, and reporting financial metrics on a portfolio of programs (valued at $80M in revenue per year). Through great mentorship and strong company values, I learned how to hold people accountable while fostering a rewarding work environment. I participated in an EVM pilot program allowing me to combine my project management and financial analysis experience and grow with a team of diverse and skilled individuals.

I developed strong Microsoft Excel skills through the development of the monthly financial status reports, estimates, projections, and forecast file creation and updates on several projects totaling $30 million per year. The complexity and size of the projects I support grew rapidly from the start of my time as a financial analyst to my promotion to a senior. This showcases that I am a quick learner and strive for knowledge, growth, and success. The Project Control Analyst (PCA) community within ManTech had endless opportunities to learn all aspects of project management. I received my CAPM (Certified Associate Project Manager) in 2011. From supporting pricing and proposal development efforts to reviewing contract awards and modifications in detail, collaborating with subcontractors, and working closely with the billing department I was able to gain a holistic understanding of program management.

Received hands-on project management experience and developed workload management and requirements analysis skills through monitoring and maintaining outgoing deliverables, incoming requirements and deliverable evaluations. Excelled at stakeholder management through government and vendor correspondence on a complex program comprised of 40+ Technical instructions. Reviewed financial & technical data included in cost estimates, schedules, and project plan deliverables for quality and accuracy. Created additional reports as directed by Program Managers and financial leads. Enhanced my program knowledge by facilitating meetings, preparing briefings, metrics collection, producing multiple plans, Work Break Down Structures, and training of new hires on multiple projects.
