Started by providing 2nd and 3rd shift engineering support shop wide through disposition of nonconforming materials, troubleshooting, and working with operators. Took on various initiatives to reduce impact to overhead, such as inventory control, which reduced weekly material orders by approximately $5,000-$10,000/week. Prevented large upfront costs by including certain materials in the BOM of other materials. Evaluated current processes and requirements and reduced use of unnecessary materials. Reduced cost of a specific process by approximately $300,000 over five years. Proposed a new floor layout consistent with lean methodologies to reduce batch sizes, wasted movement, increase flow, and reduce work in process.Analyzed issues with product lines by using a combination of operator interaction and data collection to determine process/gaging problems and was able to determine that multiple issues existed. Was able to take raw labor data and determine the cause of high direct labor on a single process line. Various other data collection/analysis projects.Took part in various trainings including GD&T, CMM (PCDMIS), OMAX Water Jet, CNC Machining, DOD Military Preservation and Packaging. Worked to apply those trainings in day to day functions.
