Improvements included: Terraform defined AWS infrastructure, stateless applications built into immutable AMIs using Packer and Ansible, deployed as autoscaled EC2 Spot Fleets, and stateful workloads migrated to AWS managed services such as Elasticache and RDS.Provisioned newly architected AWS environments for several development phases, interfaced with developers to improve Jenkins workflows for application deployment and testing across multiple environments, culminating with provisioning a new production environment and performing the migration away from the existing, legacy production environment.Interfaced with developers to introduce Ansible generated application configurations in the local development environment for consistency with hosted environments and the replacement of raw text secrets in source code with Ansible Vaulted secrets.Assisted Sr SRE with deploying a custom Jenkins library for autoscaled EC2 Spot Fleets in several GoFundMe microservices, including basic capacity planning, deployment updates, software partitioning, and developer support.Implemented embargo country networking blocks at CloudFront, as well as using GeoIP with NGINX for internal load balancing tiers for both GoFundMe and GoFundMe Charity environments.
