The role involved leading successful commercial development of a number of ground breaking initiatives including CSIRO’s first international in-country joint research entity - CSIRO Chile.

Austmine is the leading industry body in Australia for the mining equipment, technology and services (METS) sector, with over 400 corporate members. It is a not for Profit entity that exists to develop the METS sector and provide growth opportunities and value to our members so they can achieve greater success.

CSIRO's Queensland Centre for Advanced Technologies (QCAT) is Australia's largest collaborative technology precinct for the resources and associated advanced technology industries. QCAT was formed through collaboration by CSIRO with the Queensland Government and provides a unique synergistic environment for ground breaking research, innovation and technology development between research providers, government institutions and industry.

CSIRO Exploration and Mining was CSIRO's principal R&D business unit for coal, hardrock mining and exploration technology development. This role was responsible for providing executive management and strategic leadership of commercialization and innovation management, international business development and strategic management of commercial relationships and legal and IP services.

The role was responsible for management of business development, commercial and legal services, intellectual property management, industry engagement and development of commercial strategic planning.

The role was responsible for management of commercial and business development support including negotiations of major international and local R&D and commercialization agreements and management of key international and commercial relationships including significant engagement with leading financial institutions for the purpose of technology funding and commercialization including responsibility marketing and commercial management for the international ARIES Satellite venture feasibility study.

Responsibilities included strategic planning, establishing communications and marketing, and facilitation of industry engagement and stakeholder relationship management with AGCRC senior management.
