Developed features and corrected defects both as an individual contributor and as a team lead. Spearheaded the initiative to include both React into a legacy jQuery/Stimulus frontend stack and GraphQL into the backend. A remote product engineer tasked with developing and maintaining a large client-facing web application written in Django, Closure (Legacy) and React. Process for product development was iterative, taking mocks in various levels of completion and turning them into performant features ready for many thousands of professional users. In addition to stints performing bug fixing and more generalized features, notable teams I've worked on include:- non/contextualized multi-armed bandit machine learning for A/B/N testing ("bandits")- data visualizations fed from advanced machine learning models ("segmentation")- both legacy ("merch") and next-gen ("recs") merchandising systems- dynamic image manipulation and rendering for speed ("content")My greatest achievement at Monetate was shifting our frontend stack from legacy google closure library/compiler to modern React (with linting, testing).

Development of a database-as-a-service (DBAAS) product offering revolving around managed hosting of RethinkDB. This role has expanded my capabilities managing cloud-based computing infrastructure (VPS, Docker/LXC etc) and interfacing with awesome services like Stripe payments.

Seditious Technologies is a product and consulting small business that I started in 2011. Products have been centered around mobile and web applications that solve a real need. My consulting work has been of two types:- Maintenance: fixing and extending existing software- Creation: solving a client's problem through an iterative development processThis work has been great experience for the fact that I've been able to learn about many more frameworks and technologies than I would have otherwise never have interacted with in my own R&D.
