About Tammy Malone Wallace

The scope of my educational career has involved teaching ages from two to ninety-two. I believe all learners, regardless of age or socioeconomic background, have the ability to learn if instruction plays to the learner's style of learning. As an adult educator, I taught job skills to individuals struggling to find a job, to senior citizens on the use of the Internet to connect with loved ones. For the past ten years as Technology Director and Instructor, I have designed, developed and implemented technology plans focused on creating a stronger and interactive learning environment for PreK-12th grade students. Through my passion to educate adults, as well as students, I have conducted over 500 professional development sessions, been a presenter at both state and national conferences, and mentored faculty, parents, and community members on the impact technology has when integrated effectively into the curriculum. How exciting it is to be an educator in today’s technology advanced landscape! It seems if you blink, a new emerging technology is born. As a lifelong learner, I am engaged in daily reading and researching the latest trends and innovations for emerging or novel ways to integrate educational technology. I study to understand the impact of technology on student learning and assess the potential effectiveness of emerging technologies within the classroom. I strongly believe standards and objectives must be achieved using a variety of academic tools. One tool, regardless if technology-based, will not meet all learners' needs. An advantage of using technology tools is that it allows students to be actively engaged in learning. By cultivating today’s learner, as educators we are cultivating tomorrow's great thinkers and leaders to change the world for the future. As an educator, I am building and growing our future innovators.
