I found my passion for IT more than 25 years ago and I'm still in love! Try that for a lasting relationship... I started as a lab aide providing technical support to other students and quickly moved into the web development world back when programming language was simply HTML. I later discovered that my true passion is for infrastructure and the rest of my career (and still going strong) has been in this area.I moved quickly up the ladder and became a network administrator where I learned everything there is to know about TCP/IP (Well, at least from a network administration standpoint) and the world of networking. I dealt with most operating systems out there but would consider myself an expert in the Windows and VMWare world. Later on I took a role in management but never abandoned my desire for knowledge. I always considered myself a "hands on" manager and mentored my employees and peers in what technology is all about. Over the years I've learned a great deal about networking, telephony, virtualization, storage, servers, and other infrastructure components. The vast exposure to these technologies gave me the ability to look at the big picture and able to better understand how technology impacts the business and how the business impacts technology. I was then assigned to do exactly that and was able to help executives make better decisions and choose the right technology. I came from the enterprise but always wanted to apply my skills to smaller businesses. I started my own consulting company to do exactly that. Today I help dozens of small studios to seek technologies they truly need and not what the industry is shoving up their throats.

Network ManagerWeiser Lock Feb 1997 - Feb 2005As Weiser Lock grew in size, its infrastructure and support group has grown from only three individuals to eight. As a network manager, I managed the infrastructure and support team to include any aspects of networking, server management, telephony, helpdesk and operations. During this time we implemented a brand new Cisco VoiceOverIP (VOIP), migrated away from Novell and later Windows NT, Implemented Exchange environment and deployed new Cisco switching/routing infrastructure. In addition, I was heavily involved in the implementation of a new ERP application to be hosted on internal infrastructure. At the time a business decision was made to move manufacturing to Mexico and therefore I designed and orchestrated the build out of a brand new data center at the new facility.
