I've devoted my life to learning, leadership, and innovating creative solutions to the challenges and opportunities life presents me, both professional and personally. After more than a decade of supporting and leading design and construction teams building schools, housing, hospitality, gaming, and corrections projects, I have learned that the challenges facing projects boiled down to tending relationships, having a clear understanding of the scope and contracts, and a deep willingness to understand opposing viewpoints in an effort to compromise in fair and just ways to ensure that all parties are treated fairly in any disagreement or dispute resolution. My degree in Architectural Engineering from Cal Poly SLO and focus on Sustainable Environments and Green Building solutions cultivated a professional ethic in me for both critical thinking and creative problem solving with a deep commitment to regenerative solutions to reduce the ecological impact and human cost of our built environment projects - and the inevitable challenges we have to overcome to complete a successful project. I've established a track record of project turn-arounds that include recovering losses, settling claims and disputes, protecting profits with improved job cost management and controls, and cultivating a collaborative high-performance team spirit that persisted throughout the challenging assignments. But even with the efforts that led to project success, there always seemed to be another problematic project that needed my urgent support - and prevented me from starting a new project on the right track. So in 2017, I created InflectionPoint Design + Development Group (IPD2group) with a vision to bring a deeper awareness of the power of collaborative team leadership and relational intelligence to transform project teams into high-performance into the design and construction industries to better align the projects we create with the needs of the communities they serve and the health of ecosystems they impact. To date we have provided program management support, project controls, and creative problem solving support for more than 14 public construction projects ranging from less than $20M to more than $230M in value, in addition to our partnership with a BIPOC youth mentorship non-profit to develop affordable housing solutions and provide creative vocational training programs to youth and young adults. I'm excited to meet you if any of this resonates, and we're always available to provide targeted support to improve your projects and uplevel your teams' performance!
