As a Gilman Scholarship Alumni Ambassador with a Master's in Public Administration and Policy; Bachelors in Professional and Technical Writing; Honors College Degree; Certificate: Cultures and Communities), and a semester in a Administrative Leadership Master Program, it is my goal to use my vast experiences to further The Gilman Program national outreach and marketing mission. In the Ambassador role, it was my responsibility to advocate, promote, recruit and advise students the DOS’ Gilman International Scholarship and study abroad to diverse and underserve student groups in anywhere in the US. During my ambassador tenure, I worked with the Midwest and Southeast, Diplomat in Residences, DOS – Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) Program and Outreach officers at several workshops, presentations and arrange university meetings. I also served as the sole Gilman Program representative at the Student Veterans National Convention earlier this year. The results of my efforts culminated in the receipt of a Proclamation from the Mayor of Milwaukee on May 17, 2019.

Collaborated and researched Non-Profit Veteran Organizations that have positive impact on stigmas associated Veterans Mental Health issues. This research will hopefully segue into legislative or government agency opportunities to create new or revised veteran policy/s.

Founding member of veteran activities at the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee (UWM) which includes helping start the Student Veterans of America Chapter (SVA) (2011) and founding member of the Military and Veterans Resource Center (MAVRC) (2012).I student member SVA Chapter for two years and the Sergeant at Arms in 2011. I spearheaded the first Homeless Veteran Clothing Initiative on the UWM campus. The event was coordinated with UWm Student Housing at the end of the school year which collected 2500 pounds of clothing that were donated to Homeless Veteran Services non-profit organization. An additional 800 pounds of food was also collected and donated to the Hunger Task Force of Wisconsin (Now Feed America).As a founding member of the MAVRC, I assisted in developing veteran cultural educational programming for faculty, staff and administrators. This included PowerPoint presentations, written documents and forum presentations. In addition, I created the bridge between Guitars for Vets Non-Profit and UWM Music Department to provide free non-credit guitar courses for veterans on campus. Each veteran participating received a free guitar and accessory per the Guitar for Vets programs.On the student veteran academic side I created pathways to UWM Honors College and Study Abroad since 2012. To this date I continue advocate these highest undergrad institutes to student veterans. This also coincides with advocating the Gilman International Scholarship Program. Currently coordinate and collaborate with UWM Center of International Education's Study Abroad Department in joint study abroad and Gilman Scholarship presentations to the Honors College, MAVRC, LGBTQ, and First Generation Resource Center.2015 MAVRC Veteran Graduation Keynote Speaker
