Mr. Rieger began his professional career in healthcare in 1982. His areas of expertise are with academic medical centers, hospitals and health systems and multi-specialty and specialty medical groups. He has worked directly with many academic medical centers and medical groups in the development of key strategies to enhance strong economic development. Rieger and Associates was established in 1996 in response to the growing challenges facing academic centers, hospitals and medical groups needing strategic realignment in order to improve both financial and operational efficiency. Collaborative assignments guide/support board and administrative teams in the development of short and long range (five year) strategic plans to respond to intense market consolidation. Economic engagements focus on financial and operational turnarounds in troubled institutions with special emphasis on improving the quality and efficiency of patient flow through hospital or medical group systems. In any situation the elements of long-term strategy, economic performance and operational efficiency are intertwined and Rieger and Associates is well suited to successfully cultivate organizational excellence. Professional experience includes executive positions with Children’s Hospital at Stanford and Lucile Salter Packard Children’s Hospital at Stanford (LPCH) as Vice President/Administrator for Support and Ancillary Services. Mr. Rieger served as Vice President/Executive Director for both the Northern California Pediatric Health System and the Northern California Pediatric Faculty Medical Group, a first of its kind pediatric integrated delivery system developed by (LPCH). He was also Vice President of Business Development and Strategic Planning at Children’s Hospital, Orange County, California and has held various executive positions with El Camino Hospital, Mountain View, California and National Medical Enterprises (Tenet), Santa Monica, California.
