I've enjoyed storytelling from both sides of the communications fence. I was a longtime journalist and editor who moved into public relations, evolving into a trusted adviser and communications leader with a nose for news and a track record of developing and implementing communications strategies tied to business goals. Most recently, I helped to launch a publishing function at Prudential, building a team that works with communications strategists to develop content and distribute news through any means possible. I love a good, credible story, whether it's simplifying a complex idea, detailing an innovative business strategy, or announcing a breaking news event. I suppose I'll always be a storyteller at heart, with journalistic roots that fuel never-ending curiosity. I am always excited to share my expertise while continuing to learn new skills in a constantly changing world. Outside of work, I read--anything and everything. I’m learning how to play guitar. I love a good stroll, a leisurely bike ride, a quiet paddle on a lake, or a hike through the woods. And I always find peace on the ocean, preferably in Maine. My husband and I live in a tough neighborhood, where we help kids stay out of gangs, serve the homeless in our midst, and try to love our neighbors.Specialties: Expertise in internal and external communications in the areas of reputation management, crisis communications, change management, mergers & acquisitions, strategic communications, social media, editing, publishing and storytelling.
