Campus Aid
CurrentUnder the direction of the principal and vice principal, supervises campus activities of approximately 600 students to assure their safety and security in non-classroom activities; enforces and assures student compliance with school and District rules, regulations, policies and procedures.Continuously moves while patrolling and supervising campus areas, specifically during breakfast, lunch, and recess hours. Monitors eating areas, walkways, restrooms, and recess areas to help maintain order and assure student compliance with rules and regulations. Assists school cafeteria staff by facilitating a consistent, yet, not overwhelming flow of students waiting in line for food, while sometimes restocking the cart during breakfast and dealing with conflicts and any student disciplinary issues.Investigates, deters, and reports unusual, suspicious activities while using sound judgement. Prevents, mediates, and/or breaks up student conflicts and fights. Confers with students, administrators, and staff concerning student behavior and assigned activities. Reports incidents to appropriate staff or administrator.Responds to complaints from students, teachers, and other staff. Responds to student inquiries and concerns. Works with Vice Principal in creating the most efficient and effective way to manage students during breakfast, lunch, and recess hours, sometimes suggesting new tools and methods. Assures non-students on campus are authorized visitors. Directs authorized visitors to desired destinations. Escorts students to and from administrative offices as needed. Locks and unlocks doors and gates as appropriate.Reports safety and sanitary hazards to appropriate personnel. Responds to emergency situations as needed. Refers students to the health office for cases of injury or illness. Works with a team of 5 other Campus Aid team members to provide effective coverage of supervision of students during breakfast, lunch, and recess hours.
