It Infrastructure And Service Management Apprentice
Bonn, De
As part of my apprenticeship I had three very different roles described below. This gave me an experience in many different aspects of the organisation. Responsibilities and brief description:The Project Change Office, this roll was admin based and had four key areas: It Purchasing, Telecomms purchasing, project management office. Each area had a number of difference activities but all of them gave me great exposure to the wider business and site staff. Activities including processing forms, chasing project managers, inputting data into ordering systems and dealing with customer queries.Technical Project Management, this roll was site based and involved a lot of traveling around the UK. This roll put you at the front of the relationship between ISM, IT and the customer or site. It allowed me to get hands on experience with field based IT work from Patching, fault finding and configuring IT equipment. Technical Architecture, this roll was for a fairly short period of time. It allowed me to get a basic understanding of many things from the Active Directory to IP load balancing. The main part of this roll was viewing existing documentation and creating Technical design documents from these summarising the infrastructure and any additional information into one document. This whole apprenticeship gave me a great insight into both project management and IT support.
