I'm an executive & lifestyle coach, mentor & consultant in placemaking /coworking & social impact. I have taken things from idea to reality; and now love helping others do so.As a proven & established leader, Award winning entrepreneur & innovator, I have 3 decades experience to draw upon of successful (social) business development & project delivery.I have solved complex social problems by prototyping & delivering very practical solutions - developing initiatives, projects, services & teams that make social change. Career highlights:- Innovating on the commercial real estate model to create one of Europes first coworking hubs, in the UK's 2nd most expensive city, opening 1 month before the 2007/8 global recession. Leading this organisation & team over 2 decades, through thick & thin, including the 'Covid years' where we pivoted, secured a new strategic partner, moved location and successfully scaled up.- Developed a highly successful, well regarded social enterprise from scratch. The Melting Pot has helped thousands of people to start, grow & thrive - increasing productivity, wellbeing and social impact. As Scotland's Centre for Social Innovation, it hosts one of the oldest Coworking communities in the world and supports a diverse network of organisations & individuals who make social change (social innovators).- Developed other services that 'stimulate & support social innovation', including:1. Good Ideas - an education programme which incubates people & their social change ideas. This has resulted in many new social change projects / organisations, jobs & diverse forms of social impact.2. Globally supporting local entrepreneurial placemakers to accelerate their creation of a coworking hub, in their town, mostly in areas of high risk and where market failure risk is high. This resulted in thriving entrepreneurial communities based in buildings such as a rural prison, old schools, ex-department stores & banks, libraries and of course offices.- Contributing to international learning by public speaking & designing/delivering fantastic workshops for diverse audiences.
